DLH Industries: GM Supplier of the Year four years running

Canton, Ohio – General Motors has presented its 2010 Global Supplier of the Year award to DLH Industries Inc. for its significant contributions to GM’s global product and performance achievements. This marks the fourth consecutive year DLH Industries has earned the coveted award.
President and Chief Executive Officer John Saxon accepted the award – presented to only 82 of GM’s nearly 20,000 suppliers worldwide – at a ceremony recently held at the GM Renaissance Center in Detroit. “Our employees are committed to excellence and to the industry,” he said. “We appreciate the opportunities for growth, development and diversification General Motors provides; their support plays a vital role in our success.”
The GM Supplier of the Year award began as a global program in 1992. Winners are selected by a global team of GM executives from purchasing, engineering, manufacturing and logistics, who base their decisions on supplier performance in quality, service, technology and price.
The ongoing recognition and support from General Motors have created opportunities for DLH to grow in nontraditional product areas. “When an organization is continually recognized by its largest customer, new opportunities materialize,” said Vice President of Sales Dan McNary. “Our engineers are working on projects every day that just a few years ago would have been outside of our product scope.” Projects currently under development at DLH Industries include applications for brake, engine mount and suspension systems.
